The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs is Almost Here (Console)

Via: The Sims

Simmers, summer is in full swing, and we hope yours is going swimmingly. But before you power down and head to the beach, don’t you want to read more about The Sims™ 4 Cats & Dogs Expansion Pack* which releases July 31, 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4? Of course you do! Here are ten things we hope you’ll love about this pack. We’re also introducing some awesome updates for Xbox One players below.

Create-A-Breed
The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs has so many unique breeds, each of which look gorgeous and distinct. But, beyond standard breeds you’d expect, like Russian Blue or Akita, you can easily create adorable mixed breeds with just a few clicks. It’s so easy to quickly craft the cat or dog you imagine. Did we mention adorable? Because they all are!

Painting the Pet
You can start by choosing a breed or crafting a mixed breed, but it’s super simple to add the perfect touches to your buddy. Will it be a pink nose, a lighter shade of fur, or even purple spots? It’s so easy to create pixel perfect creations or recreations of any dog or cat. Get ready for a pet paint palette you won’t want to put down.

Love You, Bay
With this expansion, you’ll get Brindleton Bay, a gorgeous seaside town designed with pets in mind. We made sure to create beautiful areas for a stroll with your pooch, including Pupperton Park, and cozy coastal spots like the Salty Paws Saloon. Whether you’re discovering the romantic secrets of the lighthouse, chasing birds near the docks, or digging for rare finds at the pet cemetery (spooooky!), you’ll have a lot of fun when taking your four-legged friend for a walk around the neighborhood.

Valiant Vet
Owning a business in The Sims 4 is something our community loves, and we love to experiment with it! In Cats & Dogs, the Pawspital is where your pets can get diagnosed for anything that ails them. As with other businesses, optimizing the perfect staff will keep your customers – both two-legged and four-legged – happy. Plus, you can tweak the layout for your Sims’ needs. This is a fantastic career, especially if your Sim can’t get enough of felines and playing fetch.

Pet Personalities
The traits are strong with this one. We spent months trying to understand the souls of cats and dogs and what our game would become. And, well, pets are unique creatures that make each of us delighted (or dumbfounded) in different ways. From stubborn and smart to playful and independent, traits truly change every pet’s behavior. Beyond that, every pet has unique quirks that you’ll have to discover yourself. Each pet you get will help your Sims tell a story.

Pet Costumes
This makes us smile so much. We wanted to add something entirely different for Create-a-Pet, and costumes filled that slot perfectly. They’re hilarious, charming, and incredibly reminiscent of so many photos on the Internet. We cannot wait to see what horrors you put your pets through in the name of adorableness.

Inside Their Heads
To control or not control your pets? Pets are individuals, and many times, a perplexing puzzle to us humans. So, in your Sims’ world, they’ll be able to uncover who their dogs are and bond with them without knowing their next move. Sims can investigate their companion’s behavior, and give them all the love they need. Oh, and if they’re paying attention, they’ll definitely know when pets need a bath or a visit to the vet. You’ll have such a swell time peering into those cute little eyes while your Sims wonder what the heck Fido is thinking. Hint: It’s probably belly rubs.

Surface-Level Felines
If you’ve ever had a cat, you know that they use every surface in the house as their own. It’s that lovable behavior that drove us to create the most authentic cat experience possible – Sims style! You’ll see your Sims’ cats jump on the fridge for an aerial view and the counter to avoid the pesky dog, hide under the bed, leap onto the bed, and leap everywhere in between. The world is a cat’s playground in The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs, just like real life.

All the Objects
Squeaky toys, cat feathers, laser pointers, and multiple cat condos abound. Don’t forget about scratching posts, pet beds, litter boxes, and litter boxes with lasers. But wait, there’s more! Create an epic obstacle course for your dog or watch how they perceive common household objects. There are so many ways to interact with your pets.

Cat on a Vacuum
Last but not least, let’s get to the messy part. Cats and dogs can create mild chaos, like hairballs and hair and pee and poo. If you want an easier way to clean up that mess, we made your Sims an automatic household cleaning robot. But we didn’t stop there. Your cat can ride the vacuum. In a shark costume. Aren’t games fun?

The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs is Coming to Console

Via: The Sims

Something new is coming to console, and it’s covered in fur! The SimsTM 4 Cats & Dogs* will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 31, 2018. Before you cough up any hairballs, we’d like to give you a preview of what to expect from this massively cute pack.

Purr-fect Pets

Create-A-Pet is a tool that gives you tons of customization options to create your dream pet. You can search for a seemingly-endless amount of cat and dog breeds or mix any two breeds to create the perfect mutt. If those tools aren’t enough to get a hair-raising result, try the painting feature! Whether you’re adding a few spots, a bright color to the nose, or using stencils to create more complicated patterns, customizing your pets is fun and simple. Plus, drumroll please. . . we have costumes for cats and dogs! What’s that you say? You want your pup to go swimming while dressed as a shark? Your wish is our command, along with so many more adorable scenarios!

Traits, Training, and Tons of Fun

Once your pet is created and you enter live mode, you’ll see that these are the most expressive, interesting, and distinctive pets we’ve ever made. Traits make every pet an individual, but only the most dedicated owners will recognize their pets’ fears, desires, and more. Cats will hide from dogs by standing on the fridge, peering down at their owners. Devoted dog lovers can train their fur babies to perform a series of increasingly complicated tricks, or even walk them around the new world of Brindleton Bay to chase birds and stretch their legs. Now that’s a good boy!

Prescriptions for Poodles and Persians

Once you have your puppy trained and the cat feeder all programmed (one less thing to worry about, believe us), have your Sims purchase the local Veterinarian practice to start work on Monday. Yes, that’s right! You can own a Vet Clinic, hire a smart staff, diagnose illnesses, and perform surgeries to improve the wellness of the neighborhood’s pets (and earn a few Simoleons).

Furry friends, an awesome career, and a new world are coming your way on Xbox One and PlayStation 4! Whether you already have a special pet in your life or not, The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs is a special way to show your love for all things fuzzy. Plus, let’s be honest, it’s a lot less messy than real life. What stories will you tell with your Sims and their new four-legged friends?

The Sims 4 Parenthood and The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff are Coming to Console

Via: The Sims

Move over, fully-grown Sims. Two new The Sims4 packs* are coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 19, 2018, and they’re all about kids and teens! As a little preview to kick-start your parental instincts, below are three things to get excited about each pack.

The Sims 4 Parenthood*

Character Values
Raising kids in The Sims 4 has never been more meaningful. In this pack, choices you make when raising kids truly matter, all the way into their adulthood! As you develop parenting skills, there are five character values you can grow throughout kids’ and teens’ lives: manners, emotional control, empathy, responsibility, and conflict resolution. When you scold or praise kids – whichever is more your parenting style – they’re more likely to behave.

Family Matters
Want some family-friendly activities? You got ‘em! Your young students will bring home school projects they can put together at home. Parents will also have opportunities to volunteer at school and will receive calls from school about solving conflicts with their child. The answers they give will affect those character values we talked about. Oh, and it may not seem like a family activity, but don’t forget about the always-important curfew. This will be helpful to keep families on the same page. Kids need boundaries, after all!

Phased and Confused
Children and teens go through phases, just like us, and this can alter their day-to-day moods and activities. For some Sims, that means lots of emotions and blasting music at all hours. For others, it’s melancholy all the way, and only certain things will be able to cheer them up. (Note to self: wear bear costume.) In other words, be prepared for whatever they throw your way!

The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff*

Child’s Play
From floor to ceiling, you can customize kids’ rooms to their hearts’ content. Wall decals, posters, paper lanterns, and toy chests provide the perfect environment for comfort and fun. Plus, add a bookshelf to spark kids’ imaginations (and report cards) and an activity table for writing, drawing, and making crafts. And don’t forget Bosley Bot the robot!

Pint-Sized Fashion
The kids’ clothing you’ll get with this pack just might make your adult Sims jealous. Graphic tees? Check. Ripped jeans in different patterns and colors? Yep. Adorable skirts? You bet. Playing dress-up has never looked this fun!

Gamers in Training
As a child progresses through the social skill, they’ll get the Puppet Theater! There are many magical stories to perform, and different tales unlock as the child levels up this skill. Will it be a detective mystery, an outdoor adventure, or even a monster story? The choice is yours! Speaking of monsters, we can’t go any further without telling you about Voidcritters! Customizing and decorating your kid’s room will be tons of fun, and it’ll be the perfect backdrop for the Voidcritter Battle Station. Kids can test their skills and go head-to-head in this competitive card game. Using one of twenty collectible cards that can be found around your Sims’ world, the aim is for your Voidcritter to come out victorious. Mini-game lovers unite! This is gonna be good.

What will be your parenting philosophy? Tough love? Gentle guidance? You can raise young Sims however you like and customize their bedrooms when The Sims 4 Parenthood and The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff release on PlayStation4 and Xbox One June 19, 2018. Build a Family-Friendly Backyard

Via: The Sims

Console Simmers, rejoice! The Sims™ 4 Toddler Stuff Pack and The Sims™ 4 Backyard Stuff Pack* are available now for PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One. Let’s dive into some awesome content you can expect to get your hands on with these new-to-console packs.

It’s Toddler Time
Toddlers like to be entertained, and as an adult, that can be exhausting! That’s why hosting a play date in The Sims 4 Toddler Stuff Pack can bring such relief to adult Sims. To host your own play date, highlight an adult Sim in your household and use their phone to “Plan a Social Event.” From there, select “Play Date” and pick who you want to invite. Soon, your invited guests will be arriving along with their caregivers to help keep the fun going.

While you could host the play date inside, why not make use of that beautiful garden space by placing a slide or dollhouse, or letting the toddlers explore the colorful new tunnels? Of course, you want the young ones to be safe, not only from the world around them but from harmful UV rays, so be sure to put up shade so they have a place to take cover and cool off.

Playing with others allows your little ones to form new friendships and gives older Sims someone to chat with to form their own relationships. Adults can also use the new grill to cook up some delicious backyard grub, as everyone is sure to work up an appetite.

Make a Splash
Speaking of backyard, did we mention that Backyard Stuff is also available?

To start a splashing, sliding adventure, choose a lawn water slide, from the basic colorful options to the more elaborate Jaws of Death. That one will have your Sims sliding through the gaping maw of one of our oceans’ most efficient predators. Don’t worry, these jaws are way more fun, especially if you add soap, which will spout foamy bubbles on the slide and any Sims that dare to ride it.

Placing the new lawn water slide will let your Sims show off their skills, if they have any! Encourage other Sims to step up and show off by cheering them on as they gracefully make their way across the slide. Perhaps they’ll delight everyone by landing that perfect trick and look super cool in front of everyone. Or, if they’re like us, they’ll slip, stumble, and be a mess of flailing arms and legs before coming to an undignified halt halfway across. Totally meant to do that!

To avoid being in the latter category, Sims can raise their Fitness Skill (or Motor Skill for the younger Sims) to more easily pull off some sweet tricks.

The lawn water slide is just the start of creating your dream garden, too. Use the new furniture and decorations to personalize the rest of the backyard or make everything more zen. That way, when the toddlers have worn themselves out, you can listen to the relaxing ding of the decorative wind chimes.

Whether you want to keep the fun inside or take it outside, there is something for everyone in The Sims 4 Toddler Stuff and The Sims 4 Backyard Stuff, available now!
