Create A Sim Story:
Within The Sims 4 creating a Sim can be done through multiple methods, simply diving in creating your Sim, choosing their personalities, clothing and more to genetics or simply adding a Sim from the gallery by your fellow simmers, to a new feature called “Add Sim via a Story” players will be asked a serious of questions with 3 possible answers, through this method a player will be generally dictating a Sim aspirations, traits their starting career path and starting funds.
More questions are added with additional DLCs added to the game where players will be answering questions based on the DLCs theme. Each answer answered has a weigh chance system for aspirations, traits, career path and starting funds.
Identity:
In The Sims 4, your Sim’s identity is just as important as how they look. Establish their aspirations and personality traits to create your Sim’s unique individuality. Clicking the Plumbob in the top left corner allows you to select your Sim’s walk style for the first time along with other attributes.
Choosing a Sim personality can start with their gender male or female to personalising the gender options such as Physical Frame to Clothing Preferences to more. After selecting a Sim gender their life ages can be selected from Toddler, Child, Teen, Young Adult, Adult and Elderly.
Following that you can select your Sim Walk Styles, how your Sim Walks, Walk Styles can be changed at any time with additional walk styles tied to emotions in game. You can choose from 10 different walk styles these are Default, Perky, Snooty, Swagger, Feminine, Tough, Goofy, Sluggish, Bouncy and Creepy.
After choosing their gender, life stage and walk style you choose their voices, this is how your Sim talks, you can choose different voices to match your Sim personalities from different pitches these are Sweet, Melodic, Lilted, Clear, Warm and Brush. Toddlers have 1 choice being Toddler Voice and Children have 2 choices being Sweet and Warm. And finally choosing the Sims household relationships to each other.
Custom Pronouns:
For the very first time in Sims history within The Sims 4 you can customise pronouns for your Sims. Simply either choosing from the list available for your Sim from They/Them, She/Her, He/Him to a complete customisation of your own custom pronouns.

In The Identity section under the Gender section you have the ability to customise further the gender and sexual orientation of your Sims.
Direct Manipulation:
A new tactile push and pull approach to making your Sims in the image of your imagination. Rotating your Sim will reveal more areas available for manipulation. Zooming in and clicking on your Sim’s face gives you the option to Enter Detail Edit Mode.
Genetics:
New Sims can be created by playing with the genetics of two different Sims. The genetics of any two age appropriate Sims can be spliced together, regardless of gender. Create a Sibling, or Child based on your selected Sim. You can even use Genetics to create Parents for the first time in the franchise.
